Business Calculators for Pricing, Profit, and Investment Decisions
Business decisions often come down to margin, cost, volume, and return. The Profit Margin Calculator, Markup Calculator, and Discount Calculator help compare selling price, cost, profit, and promotional pricing before a price is changed.
For sales and operations, the Sales Tax Calculator estimates tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive prices, while the Commission Calculator handles flat, tiered, and base-plus-commission pay structures.
For project and investment analysis, the ROI Calculator, Break-Even Calculator, NPV and IRR Calculator, CAGR Calculator, and Payback Period Calculator show different views of risk, return, growth, and recovery time.
Which Business Metric Should Come First?
Use profit margin when the question is how much of each sale becomes profit. Use markup when setting a selling price from a known cost. Use break-even when fixed costs and unit economics determine how many sales are needed before a product or project becomes profitable.
For investments, ROI is the simplest return measure, but NPV and IRR are better when timing matters. Payback period is useful for cash recovery, while CAGR is useful for describing growth over multiple years.
